Now: The new ROHDE ST 310 control system

ROHDE is setting the new standard in the kiln controller sector: The well-known TC 304 will be replaced by the new standard controller, the ROHDE ST 310, from September 2023.

With the ROHDE ST 310, an app-enabled controller is now supplied as standard with every ROHDE kiln. This means that, in addition to the previous functions, the possibilities of the innovative ROHDE myKiln app are now available to every new kiln user.

With the ROHDE myKiln app, the firing can be tracked in real time from a mobile device. The app allows easy programming and visualisation of your firing curves and their transfer to all connected controllers. During firing, the setpoint/actual value curve is recorded, visualised and automatically archived. After the firing, it can be supplemented with notes and photos.

ROHDE myKiln is available as a free download for Android systems from the Google Play Store and for iOS, in the Apple App Store and as a browser-based desktop app.

Like its predecessor, the TC 304, the ST 310 is easy to operate. The operating concept and the key arrangement remain almost unchanged, and the clear schematic representation of the firing curve with two heating ramps, a soak time and a cooling ramp has been retained. The corresponding program values can be changed as usual using the cursor keys.

With the option of a programmable start delay, the ST 310 can be adapted to individual schedules. Besides the Wi-Fi interface, which creates the connection with the ROHDE myKiln app, there is a USB port for offline data recording on a USB flash drive. This also allows evaluation of the setpoint/actual curve on the PC using ROHDEgraph.

The ST 310 provides another safety element for the kiln and controller by monitoring the room temperature. With the optionally available hysteresis control, for the first time, a standard controller is on the market that is optimised for operation on a PV system: ROHDE solarReady.

Another new feature of the ST 310 is the ergonomic case, which is already familiar from our ST 411. The CPC-14 connector, which has been the universal interface to the ROHDE kiln for decades, ensures backward compatibility of the controller and means that an older ROHDE kiln can also benefit from the advanced functionalities of the ST 310.

With the ST 310, ROHDE is now rounding off its kiln controller portfolio to suit the beginner and is also offering, in addition to the ST 411, ST 630 and ST 632, a controller compatible with the ROHDE myKiln app for the aspiring firing professional.

State-of-the-art technology, ease of operation and pioneering app connectivity are the hallmarks of the ST 310.

The ROHDE ST 310 will be available from September on the same conditions as the TC 304.
