The German ceramics scene has lost one of its leading lights – Fritz Rossmann died during the first weekend in March 2021.
We remember a great and dear person who shaped and impressed the national and international ceramic landscape with his extensive work.
Fascinated by the timeless appearance of the celadon glazes, Fritz Rossmann devoted a large part of his creative time to their development in gas firing. The interaction of the glaze with the porcelain object he had turned was the personal challenge that he faced: the aesthetics of the glaze, combined into an item with a pleasantly haptic surface and harmonious shape, was created in an elaborate gas firing.
Fritz Rossmann was always ready to share his vast knowledge. We have always gladly accepted his invitations to hold our gas firing seminars in the Grenzhausen Ceramics Group. His always very precise and respectful advice when looking at the firing results remains in our memory.
Dear Fritz, we sincerely say thank you for your work and your participation in our training courses. Our sincere condolences go to Susanne and your family, and we wish you a lot of strength for this difficult time.
