The pottery market in Iznang has been a fixture in ROHDE's calendar of events for many years. In addition to the picturesque market on Lake Constance, where national and international ceramic artists present their works, the focus is on the presentation of the Iznang Ceramics Prize and the Young Talents Award.
As a company, we are particularly committed to promoting young talent, which is why we are sponsoring the Young Talents Award, worth €3,000, for the fourth time. The award is aimed specifically at young professionals in the industry. This year, the young artists once again impressively demonstrated how creative, innovative, and self-confident the young ceramics scene is. Impressive works were created under this year's motto “In Motion.”
After intensive deliberation, the expert jury awarded the Young Talents Award 2025 to 23-year-old Alicia Schuster. As the youngest participant, she impressed with her work and can now look forward to receiving this nationally recognized award. Schuster completed her training as a ceramist at the Ceramics College in Landshut in July 2024 and says of her submitted artwork:
"With my piece, I am trying to depict the dynamic structure of a relationship. It is important to retain individuality, but at the same time we need commonalities in order to function. These commonalities and contrasts are represented on different levels, for example through color. To represent the dynamics in a relationship, the rings can be moved independently of each other and their arrangement in relation to each other can be changed. In this way, the rings can exist closer together or further apart in their entanglement. But the connection remains, and cannot be broken without destruction."
Further commendations from the expert jury in this year's Young Talents Awards went to Jonas Saling, Isabella Bambagioni, and Lea Greger. This year's Iznanger Ceramics Prize was awarded to Nico Schipp. The jury also honored Insook Park (2nd place) and Martin Schubert (3rd place). The ceramics prize is endowed with a total of 1500 euros.
