Pottery Festival by the Ammersee: 20 Years of the Diessen Ceramics Award

The good weather and free admission allowed numerous visitors to stroll through one of the most beautiful and multifaceted pottery markets in Europe again, after a two-year break due to the pandemic, and admire the wonderful variety of ceramic creations. More than 150 potters showed high-quality tableware, garden ceramics, decorative objects and works of art in all colours and shapes.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Diessen Ceramics Award, donated by Helmut ROHDE GmbH, all the works honoured with the award to date were exhibited for the first time in the “Blue House”. The special exhibition was a great success and showed the elated visitors a unique history and exquisite craftsmanship.

This year's award winner is Manfred Emmenegger-Kanzler. His ceramics on the theme of “object-vessel-object” were selected by the jury from more than 90 high-quality competition entries and awarded the internationally renowned prize.

For us, this year's pottery market was a special anniversary market and once again a great opportunity to give special recognition to outstanding artists. We would like to thank all the participants and visitors, and are already looking forward to the next market!
