For the second time, together with our specialist dealer CIBAS Impasti - ROHDE Italia, we have taken part in the ceramics festival held every two years in Faenza.
For three days, the pretty town in Emilia Romagna was all about international ceramics. This year there were 195 exhibitors from all over Europe who offered their ceramics in the middle of the old town and the many narrow streets. It was a very broad spectrum: ceramic artworks, sculptures as well as everyday objects and jewellery could be seen.
The various pottery throwing competitions also met with great interest. It was not only about throwing a cylinder as high as possible or a bowl with the largest possible diameter, but also about throwing a vase blindfolded, whose special shape had to be "blindly" felt beforehand. The results were sometimes amazingly close to the original.
